Dan Gillmor set his sights high

MediactiveDan Gillmor’s book entitled Mediactive was created to help society, become more responsible users of media. It’s not only enough that you function as a ‘consumer and creator’. You also need to be well-informed about the things that you involve yourself with, especially when it concerns the media.

Just because hundreds of thousands of Twitter messages are sent in relation to X Factor, it does not follow that it’s any good. Mediactive was created to help redeem both journalism and democracy. Loft targets, and regardless of if the book achieves what it set out to, it is certainly a very thought-provoking read.  Dan Gillmor has also managed to include the necessary tools and techniques to help anyone get through this age of ‘information confusion’. We would suggest this is a book worth checking out.
